Some BTS goodies:

FANART

* thuyaleelee did is smile-inducing piece featuring Jin and ten of his sunglasses he has worn at concerts. Like the man himself, each look is bright and colorful (with some being slightly goofy.)

FICS

* ship of fools by Mother of Pearl - (Jin/Yoongi) 4.3k words of Yoongi dealing with the consequences of accepting Jin's invite to go sailing. Yoongi's expecting some GRAND ROMANTIC GESTURE, but things take a turn toward the wacky. What I liked abt this story was seeing a good characterization of Jin and Yoongi's dynamic. it almost feels like a deleted scene from Bon Voyage, really.


* got the cream by snooki - (Jungkook/Suga/RM) 26.6k words and change. This is a story that's pretty close to canon...with the 'twist' that, at some point in the past, people were able to create hybrids. Bunny hybrid!Jungkook is only the second hybrid idol and he's having some difficulties with it. Thankfully for him, one of his hyungs in BTS happens to be cat hybrid!Yoongi. And then, there's RM--who is attracted to hybrids...

I didn't expect to like this story as much as I did. The fact that I was rooting for the Yoongi/Jungkook/RM OT3 to happen surprised me a lot. Each chapter is told in linear form by one of the three guys (with some cameos from the rest of BTS), so the reader is able to understand all three protags' motivations and behaviors/reactions.

Another thing I liked was seeing an RM who has flaws: he doesn't have all the answers and does get rightfully called out when he makes a mistake or two w/r/t hybrid and human-hybrid cultures. There's also a lot of intimacy and a lot of sweetness that pave the way for the pornier bits in the story.


* capsize in your thighs by snooki - (Jin/Jungkook, but heavily-implied OT7) Here are 16.7k words of a canon-compliant A/B/O in which Jungkook presents as an omega. Jin, the only other omega in BTS, offers his help.

NGL, this was really damn hot for a variety of reasons (the hyung kink, the fact that Jin was quietly pursuing Jungkook, the v., v. strong OT7 going on, etc). But I also liked that this story had a lot of HEART. Jungkook being loved on by the rest of BTS is one of my fave things to see IRL as well as in fic and this story deffo brought that in spades. IMO, it's a good example of Porn With Feelings.


* stuck in the seams by spudcity - (Jin/RM) A 58k non-Idol AU in which humans and werewolves co-exist. The ideal story for when you're in the mood for ALL of the found family/family of choice feels: Omega!Jin is foster parent to 16-year olds Jimin (an Alpha) and Taehyung (a Beta) when he gets a call to help foster 14-y.o. Omega!Jungkook.

Adding to that, there's a new (and much to Jin's chagrin, actually hot AF) pack Alpha called RM who is frustratingly charming, if inept when it comes to getting on Jin's good graces.

This is one of those, ime, rare stories that keep a perfect balance between humor and drama. I laughed and teared up almost in equal amounts while reading it, so I gotta rec it to y'all. :D

I haven't been reading that much this week, but here's a couple funny Leverage fics I did read:

The Surprise Job by DinerGuy (1793 words)
The tags made me laugh as much as the fic did, but there IS definitely some humor worked into the fluff.

Audience: 822,000 and Homeland Security by WerewolvesAreReal (2769 words)
I seriously giggled out loud the entire time I read this one. Outsider POV and Hardison live-streaming. :D



And I'm actually going to rec three really awesome Leverage fanvids, almost entirely gen, so suitable no matter what you ship (or don't).

In the Ayer by renenet
Possibly my favorite Leverage fanvid - the sync with musical beat, lyrics, and clip timing is fantastic, and it does great showcasing of each team member, matched perfectly to musical passages. All clips are from S1 to mid-S2 (it was made in 2010), which is even more amazing - they had so much less to work with than they would now.

Grifters by Geonn
This song couldn't be more perfect for Leverage, as you can see! It does have some Nate/Sophie - but about the way the show did, just part of things but not the sole focus.

Edge of Glory by jmtorres
This vid is all Parker jumping off things, and so perfectly matched to the whole theme of "the edge" and shows her sheer joy at being in the air. Parker x Gravity indeed. :D

I don't homestuck, but that second one is SO COOL.

The character is a space god, so the semi-nebula effect for the hair has so e extra resonance because of that - but yeah, mostly it's just super cool. Glad you like it!
