Community Recs Post!
Every Thursday, we have a community post, just like this one, where you can drop a rec or five in the comments.
This works great if you only have one rec and don't want to make a whole post for it, or if you don't have a DW account, or if you're shy. ;)
(But don't forget: you can deffo make posts of your own seven days a week. ;D!)
So what cool fanarts/other kinds of fanwork/fancrafts/fics/fanvids/podfics have we discovered this week? Drop it in the comments below. Anon comment is enabled.
BTW, AI fanworks are not eligible for reccing at recthething. If you aware that a fanwork is AI-generated, please do not rec it here

1 InuYasha Rec
MirSan and InuKag, 36898 words and counting, Rated E (definitely NSFW - contains explicit sexual content, drug use, depictions of racism, and more)
I don't even know where to start with this one. It's an ambitious AU, re-imagining characters from feudal era Japan in late 1980s San Diego. Instead of his canon background as a monk, in this story Miroku is a heavy metal (literal) warlock, getting into trouble at school and elsewhere... and dealing with the supernatural on the side. The story is just getting started, so we've only really just met the other canon characters, but I've really enjoyed how this author has translated them into this new setting. One thing I've found refreshing about this story is its specificity. It very much takes place in a specific time and place. The characters have retained their Japanese heritage and their connections with Japan and its culture and history, and that is reflected in their interactions with each other and with the other people around them. And the metal and 80s references are a delight.
I don't like to be the person who starts a rec with "I don't usually like [x], but..." so I'm putting this at the end, but: I don't generally enjoy modern/mundane AU stories for this fandom because they often read as unmoored from both canon and reality in a way that doesn't appeal to me. This story doesn't suffer from that at all.
Did I mention it's full of heavy metal references and includes a mix tape track at the end of each chapter?
