Community Recs Post!

Every Thursday, we have a community post, just like this one, where you can drop a rec or five in the comments.

This works great if you only have one rec and don't want to make a whole post for it, or if you don't have a DW account, or if you're shy. ;)

(But don't forget: you can deffo make posts of your own seven days a week. ;D!)

So what cool fancrafts/podfics/fics/fanarts/fanvids/some other kind of fanwork have we discovered this week? Drop it in the comments below. Anon comment is enabled.

BTW, AI fanworks are not eligible for reccing at recthething. If you aware that a fanwork is AI-generated, please do not rec it here.

A rec-in-progress (aka a rec for an active WiP):

Lonesome Town by [personal profile] disastershipblonde (Our Flag Means Death, 1950s AU, Izzy Hands/Benjamin Hornigold + Stede Bonnet/Izzy Hads, rated E, 5k words to date) is currently up to 2/? chapters of post-war hard times and genteel menace.

The author's summary:

It’s 1955. Izzy Hands is twenty-six years old and the dictionary definition of ‘hopeless’. Released from borstal three years prior, he’s spent his lonely freedom drifting around the country in search of casual work. The only thing keeping body and soul together is his love of clothes, the Edwardian-style Teddy Boy look of troublemakers and shifty lads with flick knives.

When a chance meeting brings the suave and dangerous Ben Hornigold into his life, Izzy embarks on his career as Borstal Boy, posing for dirty photos in Ben’s Soho studio. The pictures catch the attention of ‘Lucky’ Lord Bonnet, a wastrel gambler with a golden future he doesn’t want.

Ben has a plan. So does Lucky Bonnet. What could go wrong?

Thanks for the post! Genteel menace is definitely my favourite kind of menace. :D
