Community Recs Post!

Sorry about the lateness, guys! Thank you all SO MUCH for your Rectember themed recs so far! And thanks to everyone responding to other people's recs, too - I know that really helps reccers feel like they're doing something worthwhile. :)

Anyway, for those of you who have unthemed recs you'd like to share, here is our weekly community recs post! Every Thursday, we have a post like this one where you can drop a rec or five in the comments. This works great if you only have one rec and don't want to make a whole post for it, if you don't have a DW account to make posts of your own, or if you're just shy. :)

(But don't forget, you're also welcome to post recs directly to the comm seven days a week. :D)

So, what cool fic/art/vid have we discovered this week? Drop it in the comments below! Anon comments are enabled.

Yesterday I reread one of my favorite mcu fics, The Favor of the King by thingswithwings. \o/

18k, Sam/T'Challa, 90% lovely plot, 10% hot porn. This was written before Black Panther came out, and set after CA:CW. So while some characterizations and canonical details no longer match up, it's still a very fun read. The worldbuilding details are especially delightful.

This week's new Leverage reads (a random assortment):

Little Bat by celestialskiff (5339 words)
It floored me just how much I ended up really loving this Sophie/Parker romantic friendship fic; it's the sweetest portrayal of the two of them. It's not a ship I normally go for but here I felt like it really works; give it a try even if Sophie/Parker isn't usually your thing.

The Building Blocks Job by HonestBee (25613 words)
An interesting follow-up to The 12-Step Job, tying up some of the loose ends you may or may not have thought about, and relatively plotty. Lots of Eliot & Parker.

In Health by Karios (852 words)
A well-written ficlet of Maggie's perspective on the ending of her marriage to Nate.

The Red Tide Job by Mendeia (9537 words)
An good action & introspective fic set sometime after the series ends, with all the Nate & Eliot feels.

Silence is golden by UndeadRobins (386 words)
Funny little ficlet with Eliot, Parker, and Hardison on a road trip.

Light and Fast by celestialskiff (7222 words)
A beautiful albeit emotional h/c fic centering on Parker post-The Stork Job. Mind the warnings in the tags; it goes into some of the childhood experiences she may have had and PTSD resulting from them. Lots and lots of comfort.

I just read a really excellent Narnia story featuring OCs that almost reads as original fantasy, but with A+ use of Narnia worldbuilding, and a delightful F/F pairing with an aspiring bridge designer/river explorer and a naiad.

Building Bridges by [personal profile] edenfalling - 6400 words.
frausorge: drawing of a flower fairy in yellow with a green wreath on her head and yellow wings, stitching some green material, with stems of yellow flowers rising behind her (and gold threads whistling)

Oh that's lovely indeed! Thanks for sharing the rec!

I read this Q/Bond fic on a whim and it turned out to be amazing. Really good, authentic sort of awkward blossming romance, very sexy, so painfully authentic about British office culture I felt like I was back in the office. I loved it.

I read this short TOS Spock/Bones fic recently (I've been very into Spones lately), the author does a really good of keeping them in character, including the bickering, while making an established relationship seem quite plausible.

Some Comfort by babel (1442 words)

All of these are BTS fanarts. :D

* V. cool Taehyung, RM, and Seokjin/Jungkook fanarts by [twitter.com profile] namtenam

I love the style of these pieces. In my mind, they're set in some Urban Fantasy AU 'verse. Everything from the choice of drawing style to the colors and the choices for animal masks is absolute chef's kiss. *crosses fingers so that the artist posts more of them*

* Yoongi collage by [twitter.com profile] oddplantz

This is the kind of piece where you gotta take your time to fully appreciate all of the individual pieces that make up the whole thing. From bits of lyrics (most in English, but some are in Korean) to the color palette, I was in awe when this popped up on my TL.

* Vampire!Jungkook by [twitter.com profile] AntiqueBlueWale

Vampire!Jungkook is one of those things that go so well because Jungkook's innate sweetness enhances the supernatural aspects. In this instance, for example, we have a Jungkook who is adorable even as he shows the viewer his fangs. I also dig the hue which is soft and inviting.

* Jungkook/RM mini-comic by [twitter.com profile] hakkirie

A tremendously charming mini-comic that explores Jungkook and RM's dynamic. One of the things I enjoyed abt this is that, despite being only 4 panels, there's a kind of intimacy throughout that is utterly delightful.

* Taehyung portrait by [twitter.com profile] p5sona

A simple yet powerful portrait of Taehyung. The artist captured Taehyung's quiet allure in a way that is memorable.
