* sansemow did a mini-comic abt Vampire!Jimin/Werewolf!Jungkook that highlights the lulz and fun times of such a paranormal pairing. CW for blood and biting (all consensual).

* black cat won't cross my path by monbon (Jimin/Yoongi with Hobi/RM as a secondary ship) - This 10.7k fic follows Jimin who rescues an unusual cat. The lulzy tone (because Hobi, RM, and Jimin as roommates means a lot of wacky commentary and mild sexual tension paves the way to a sweet (if not less odd) ending.
* with a bang (stunted plants can grow) by fruitily (Yoongi/Jungkook and Seokin/RM as a secondary ship) - Behold 24k words of Yoongi almost hooking up with his friends' new roommate and then having a slow-moving freakout abt it. Although I did became frustrated with Yoongi's stubbornness in admitting that he had feelings for Jungkook until it was almost too late, I also enjoyed the introspective vibe. There's a lot of push-and-pull happening within Yoongi and Jungkook's overall sweet personality proves to be irresistible.
One of the things that make this fic so memorable to me was seeing Yoongi making bad decisions that made sense at the time he made them. And then face consequences followed by pretty good grovelling on his part.
* [untitled] by almostsophie1 (Yoongi/Jungkook/Taehyung) - A solid 10.1k fic set in a non-Idol (Mundane) AU in which only two out of the 7 members of BTS ended up being idols. The rest work in an independent record label.
Yoongi happens to be a producer and songwriter who works with debut idol!Jungkook with his first album as well as help polish established idol!Taehyung's upcoming second album. If only he wasn't crushing on both of them at the same time...
First off, the author did an amazing job adding all kinds of details into the story about the behind-the-scenes aspect of the kpop industry. Everything from the grueling schedules to the differences between a good record label and one that sees idols as truly disposable.
In addition, I also liked how Yoongi, Jungkook, and Taehyung navigated the developing relationship between all three. Also seeing the rest of BTS rally around them was v. sweet.
* Worldwide Lonesome by loindexter (Seokjin/Yoongi, Yoongi/various OMCs) - At 39k, this is a fic that I'm still thinking about even almost a week after I finished it. This is a canon compliant AU in which Seokjin is a deeply closeted bisexual man who has had a crush on Yoongi for a while. And then Yoongi comes out as bisexual.
Rather than trying to woo Yoongi, Seokjin hides even deeper in the closet and then has to deal with some jealousy as he sees Yoongi have several one-night stands.
I loved the frankness in how Seokjin dealt with his anxiety abt the situation, the way the other members have major and minor revelations after Yoongi comes out to them and THEN seeing him bring men into the dorms, the molasses-slow shift from friends to something else between Seokjin and Yoongi, and the build up toward the acknowledgement of feelings.
Also, the Seokjin characterization was super on point. The author focuses on Seokjin as an introvert who uses humor to deflect until the self-defense mechanism complicates everything. And that kickstarts a moment of healing and tender resolution.
