Seconding the rec for (no one else can) take me there! I really enjoyed it for the academia/epistolary elements, and the way it adapts canon events is so interesting!
The sparrow's curious song was so good! Spoilers I like that Nie Huaisang doesn't give up on revenge, just learns to have other things in his life besides the obsessive wait for vengeance. (It's in the tags so it probably isn't actually spoilers, but better safe than sorry!)
