  1. World Enough and Time by alicephantomwise. "Arthur had had it all figured out. And then Merlin shot him in Beijing." Not everyone's cup of tea, as it can be disturbing that Merlin and Arthur are assassins who enjoy their jobs. But it is interesting to see them in a different sort of relationship, one which doesn't follow a predictable path.

  2. [Podfic] The Spirit of the Law by GodOfLaundryBaskets. "Bruce Maddox gets what he wanted, and then what he deserves." This ST:TNG story is creepy in a suspenseful way.

  3. Are We Human? An Interrogation in Three Parts by echan. More a meta piece than the usual music vid, this work puts together bits from a number of canons that engage in the representation of sentient AIs. To my mind it asks what we're doing as we both create and imagine the future.

  4. [ART] Golden Age by Mygalomorff. "Doodle of Merlin and Arthur sharing a happy moment together." Not often we see them laughing together and there was such a happy atmosphere for this.

  5. Fanart of Bucky and Sam baking by muffinshark. Particularly love Bucky's apron.

  6. Flower Crowns by Spica. Speaking of happy atmosphere, love to see Gwen and Merlin interacting in art, and she looks so adorable as they have fun.

I decided against rec'ing these from the database because it's a series and you're best off going to the series page and seeing the order from there.

For anyone who has enjoyed FBI: Most Wanted, starring Julian McMahon, Roxy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Kellan Lutz, and a host of other people (Nathaniel Arcand, Miguel Gomez, YaYa Gosselin, Irene Bedard, etc.), I'm rec'ing a series featuring an interesting OC.

The Wild Hunt by Bastet5 is at 422,604 words currently and is on hold, so there may not be more forthcoming (it didn't make it to S2), but what is there is plenty complete and enjoyable.

The author adds an original female character who is an FBI agent from the same tribe as Clinton Skye (Nathaniel Arcand's character) and who also speaks Mohawk as well as French (hailing from Quebec originally). She has PTSD and claustrophobia so there's quite a bit of dealing with that involved, in addition to mentions of child physical abuse. There are no romantic ships involved beyond brief mentions of canonical ones, but a variety of friendships and a whole lot of team-as-family.

The series reads like a cross between a recap of the episodes and outsider POV with a side dose of A-plot (and plenty of h/c) that we don't get to see on the show, and I found myself being genuinely interested in the original character as the time went on (and wishing she actually existed on the show). It doesn't completely walk through all of the episodes, as the OC isn't always present for some of them due to various events, but it adds another perspective plus some backstory to things like the quote from the backdoor pilot in FBI 1x18 where Jess tells Kenny "next time a fugitive throws a refrigerator down a staircase, don't try to catch it". If you love this show, I highly recommend trying it out.
