One of the things I liked abt this fic is that it allowed its characters to have the space for all the dynamics to develop in an organic way. It begins when a teenager!Jungkook is mesmerized by a slightly older!Seokjin and then gets scolded by jealous!Yoongi (who is Jungkook's neighbor.) FTR, I'm NOT a fan of jealous characters in fics (it doesn't always lands well, imo.) Also, since the fic is told from Jungkook's POV, there are bits of Yoongi's behavior and motivation the readers are missing.
THAT SAID, I enjoyed the journey as all three characters eventually got together.

The city can use — sometimes the city requires — someone who is just like him. (Super fascinating urban fantasy + modern cultivation fic)

Summary: Full-time necromancer and part-time cam boy, Wei Wuxian, finds himself unexpectedly homeless. An enthusiastic patron comes to his rescue.
Conversely: Immortal Cultivator Lan Wangji has been waiting a long time for his deceased husband to be reincarnated again. In retrospect, he should have anticipated that this is how it would go. (NSFW reincarnation, modern-cultivation yet canon compliant fic with absolutely amazing worldbuilding.)
Lan Jingyi and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip by scribblemetimbers (26k)
Summary: Lan Jingyi doesn't know how the hell their perfectly ordinary plans to go to a perfectly ordinary concert turned into a life-threatening road trip filled with monsters, magical rocks, and a megalomaniac who keeps yelling about finding an evil overlord named something as corny as The Yiling Patriarch, but what he does know is that his parents must never ever find out.
Really, the only saving grace here is that they made new friends. Strange, probably-extremely-powerful, and definitely-not-human friends, but A-Yuan and his dad saved them and now they'll help them save Hanguang-Jun! As far as Lan Jingyi is concerned, that means he's ride-or-die for them forever. (Fun and fascinating creature/monster/urban fantasy Modernish AU)
