She doesn’t think that she’s felt this poorly in a long time, but it’s not all that surprising given the events of the previous night. When she goes, she goes hard. No point partying if you’re not going to try to make it the highlight of your year, and if the company didn’t want their employees getting wild with the customers, they wouldn’t have sent them to a conference based in Vegas, of all places. Vegas is for business, sure, but it’s also for business, and Eliza’s been known to close some of her biggest deals while three shots deep.

That’s why she works in sales, after all. Gotta love the perks. Drinks ordered on a company credit card are stronger, tastier, and far more fun than any other drinks — that’s just straight facts.

Even tightly-laced, no-nonsense, secretly-a-good-time-when-he-wants-to-be Henry had managed to get in on the action.

BTS ficcies for all:

* absinthe by justananpan - An 11.3k non-Idol AU in which Jin and Yoongi are co-workers at some office. One day, Jin asks Yoongi to pretend to be his husband for an upcoming school reunion. Yoongi keeps saying now until Jin (as a joke) says that they could be in a FWB-type of relationship.

This fic does the v. tricky thing of having characters pining for each other after they've begun sleeping together. It's also pretty lulzy because Yoongi's reactions are unexpected.


* apple and cinnamon by namakemono - At 40k, this is a fic that follows Jungkook as he starts realizing things about himself after Jimin becomes his new roommate. I loved the way that the rest of BTS were brought into the story. BTW, this is also a total AU, so no canon knowledge is needed.


* A Quiet Room by ninamonday - 4.4k words of a story told from Yoongi's POV as he leaves anonymous reviews of hotels and tries to figure out what exactly is his relationship with Jungkook. For a story that this short, it deffo communicates v. clearly the routine of touring, what makes people seek out the familiar, and the tentative first steps into a new kind of relationship for Yoongi and Jungkook.


* space by misspamela - This fic is about half of the one I recced above and yet here's some FEEEEEELS in it from beginning to end.

This future fic centers around Jungkook: his post-BTS life is like now that he's a solo artist, what the bond between all 7 ex-members is like, and where he's headed. In between all that, he seeks Yoongi out. The story begins on a kind of wistfulness turns bittersweet until landing on the best kind of hopeful note. I love it to bits and would read 200k more words of it.


* Circle Back to You by Orphan Account. - Here's 12.4k words that blends in the canon (with it set in 2018) and the fantastical (time travel and doppelgangers).

One night, 2018!Yoongi finds his 2011 version sitting in his kitchen. It's pretty goofy (because 2011!Yoongi is a total brat) and introspective (both Yoongi realizing what's changed in all those years and what hasn't.) Adding to that is a secondary plotline of Yoongi trying to keep his massive crush on Jungkook under wraps.

Oooh, that first one looks super interesting! I am always interested in the fallout from that episode (I even wrote my own version of it!) and I wish more people would play with it!

I know! I gasped at that scene and went "they actually had him say that!" and then the show did *nothing* with it after that ep (and all they had him do was "approve" of Hardison, which was like "what, really, that's ALL you do with that???"). And the show has Archie come off a lot better in some ways than I think of him, lol. Dealing with that would've been way more interesting than some of the stuff they did in S5, in my opinion.

I've probably read your fic, too, I just can't remember as I've been reading chronologically through both AO3 and ff.n so my recs tend to be "stuff I read during this last week" not "everything I thought was really good". When I get through it (and finish processing metadata for the Yahoo Groups Fandom Rescue Project) I plan on working on my fanfic database again and can't wait to enter the Leverage fics into it, because then I might actually be able to *find* half the awesome fics I've read again. :)
