* beguiled by macabre (Rated Teen, Yoongi/Jimin, 10k) - A good fantasy story with a neat twist to the Hades and Persephone myth.

Dragon!Yoongi is drawn to Jimin, a human with some magical abilities. I liked this fic's pacing: it kept the plot moving while also offering up enough space for interesting things to happen.

In an utterly surprising turn of events, some MDZS/Untamed fic recs from me today :)

The song that heals the soul by Meeana (6k)
Summary: Lots of AU, very self-indulgent. Basically, Yiling Laozu wins a war, destroys Jin Guangshan's hopes to be the most powerful cultivator in the whole world, and vanishes in the Burial Mounds. Lan Wangji then came there to heal his grief and broken heart, and to play That Song for Wei Wuxian's soul. And he finds something that was lost. (Interesting canon divergent AU after WWX disappears and is presumed dead shortly Lotus Pier falls and Sunshot going somewhat differently as a result)

...And they were Cultivators by pearliegloom (4k)
Summary: See, the worst part about being immortal was seeing your own history getting rewritten right before your very eyes without any reasonable way to stop it. ...The second worst part was all those pesky archaeologists taking your things without even asking first! (a cute take on the 'immortal sees their old things in a museum' trope)

Coping Techniques for the Clueless and Socially Disadvantaged by meyari (2k)
Summary: The worst part of the Sunshot Campaign was Wei Wuxian. Without a doubt. Which was why Jin Zixuan reluctantly found himself trying out various people’s coping methods in an effort to, you know, figure out something to fix it. Him. Yeah. Zixuan didn’t know, either, but someone obviously had to do something. (short but sweet canon compliant Jin Zixuan and Wei Wuxian friendship(ish) fic)

The Untamed / MDZS fic

I've been reading KouriArashi's Made for each other, a MingLi fic of over 118k words.
What if the lectures were at The Unclean Realm rather than Cloud Recesses? Nie Huaisang and Wei Wuxian scheme to get Jiang Yanli and Nie Mingjue together. First half is mostly fun shenanigans during the lectures, and then Sunshot Campaign hits. Rated T.
Finding it hugely enjoyable!


Then I've started with selenay's Falling to the rhythm, a Strictly Come Dancing AU! Almost 129k of Wei Wuxian teaching Lan Wangji all the dances and totally falling for him!
I had prompted such an AU on the kinkmeme, but hadn't known this fic existed already! It also has a lot of the stuff I'd prompted even if it preces the prompt by... a year or so. XD I must've really fucked up my search because I remember that I didn't find anything useful when I looked for Strictly AUs!
anyway, so far it's lots of fun and has made me revisit several of the performances from the German version Let's Dance. XD
