Reccer's Note: So basically this fic is Ed/Izzy having sexy times while Stede watches, which is very nice, but I thought the banter was also great and felt in character. It's a futurefic so there were also some hints at how they ended up in the situation they were in that intrigued me.

Summary: Izzy Hands, fresh out of prison, was adrift in his hometown. Not knowing who to contact or what to do, he channels his emotions into writing like he'd learned to in prison, sharing at a local open mic night in a small bookstore. Reluctantly but surely, he befriends the owner, Stede, and let's Edward, his old boss, come back into his life.
Reccer's Note: You'd think from the description that this fic might be somewhat angsty, with Izzy having just gotten out of prison, but it is just so soft. Izzy and Stede meet first, and Izzy just kind of falls into Stede's little group of misfits and then a relationship with Stede, and eventually Ed comes back into Izzy's life. Izzy is softer here than he is in canon, still a bit of a grump, but a little more open. It is hard maintain character's personality in Modern AUs, but I still really enjoyed this. One thing, Izzy's experience of prison is no where near realistic, like he goes to the best prison ever, that has lots of free educational courses including creative writing courses, but the author admits in one of their notes that they are aware of that.
