* home beyond time series by aileron (Explicit, Yoongi/Taehyung) A 46k Non-Idol AU (first fic is 43k, soft coda is 3k) that I read in one sitting (which is rare for me.) Yoongi is barely eking out an existence for a variety of reasons. One night, he rescues a really pretty man from another guy who threatened Pretty Guy with SA. Taetae is an escort (it's unclear how involved he is w/r/t sex work).

I really, really liked the author's writing style. Also the way they wrote abt Yoongi's poverty (plus all the complications that led him to be in that kind of situation) because it didn't glamorize it nor made it OTT. Taetae was the mostest, but I really loved him too. The Tannies' cameos were pretty neat as well.

Back to my usual MDZS/Untamed fic reccing, here's two (somewhat unusual) time travel recs from me today:

how Yao Yongzheng traveled back in time to save everyone by ShippersList (6k, locked to archive)
Summary: ”You were a man who loved the sound of his own voice,” the shape says, voice drifting over to him like a half-forgotten scent. ”So, how about you put that voice to better use and show what good you actually are.” OR A story in which Fate challenges Sect Leader Yao to put his money where his mouth is and change everything better. Obviously, it should be easy and simple because Sect Leader Yao knows everything, right? (absolutely great (and original) time travel AU)

Summary: Death wasn’t exactly unexpected. Wen Ruohan had known that the entire Jianghu had it out for him. He’d taken logical steps to make sure he wouldn’t die. Getting stabbed in the back by an obsequious little worm of a genius shouldn’t have been a problem. If his time travel array hadn’t done… interesting things. Like remove the taint of the Yin Iron. Give him a healthy young body with a core no bigger than he’d had when he was twenty. Oh, and dropping him in Yiling, of all places; that was a surprise. Oh well. He’d just have to figure out how to handle his other self, the Yin Iron, and the street kid clinging to his thigh. Good thing he was good at improvising. (Completely chaotic and cracky time travel AU)
