pineconepickers (Non-Idol AU featuring 34-ish Jin returning to Korea after a decade abroad and a rather sad breakup (which was due to regular stuff, btw.) ANYWAYS, his apartment isn't ready, so he's been staying at Hobi's. After yet another delay regarding his apartment, he ends up rooming with Joonie. The latter who is a single father to a baby.

I read this IN ONE SITTING. All 45.7.k words. Cuz it was THAT GOOD! Excellent Jin POV, plot, and worldbuilding. My one (1) gripe is that there was minimal appearances from Vmin, but there we are.

Summary:

The thing is, the pivot point of all their lives was that day he and Patrick watched Tashi play in Queens, the day she crashed into their lives like a wrecking ball, a hurricane, an atomic bomb. Since that day, no two of them have ever been alone together: the other one is always in the same room, even when (especially when) they’re not.

But they’d never, not until that moment, all been in the same place.

The thing I enjoyed most about the characters in the film was how it felt as if they didn't feel that anyone besides the three of them were real people — as if their world had shrunk until it only had space for three — and the fic conveys this so well, while offering a sliver of hope that things might change.

Two art recs from the recently revealed Art Heist Exchange (wherein participants exchange art–and art styles). There's only 12 works and all are great. The whole collection is here. But I especially wanted to rec:

Cyborg (original work of a cyborg with the absolutely most amazing expression on her face)

[FANART] Overdrive (a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Anime) work, which is a fandom I don't know, but the character is striking, especially with the color composition and background.)

And one MDZS/The Untamed fic rec that I absolutely loved:

The Shade of Old Trees Kryal (363k)
Summary: They called the man in the ice Yiling Laozu, after a folk hero associated with the town in the foothills of the mountains where he was found. No one expected him to be alive! (After updating each week for close to 6 months, this fic is finally finished and I'm thrilled to rec it. It's an incredibly well thought out story of what would happen if the frozen body a bunch of modern day scientists had planned to thaw and study turned out to be alive. WWX's history in this is slightly different than canon's (as many of the characters like Wen Qing and LWJ are modern day characters rather then ones from the past) and the changes made to his past to fit that are interesting and sensible. And the various reactions from everyone in the present works very well too. Absolutely an excellent read and while quite long, the ao3 word count is deceptive since often detailed author's notes are included in each chapter since they were too long for the end notes)
