* Always hand in hand by jinsvoo - Adorbs piece abt the canonical moment during Jin's vlog for his encore concerts during which he and Taehyung held hands from the moment they met til they both got onstage (during practice.) There are many layers (of them as teammates AND friends; of the eldest member taking care of one of the youngest ones; of Taehyung's nerves as he prepared to perform onstage for the first time in three years, etc) that make this even awesomer than it already is. ;___;

* but it was you i was thinking of by hammersandstrings (Explicit, Yoongi/Taehyung, 46.9k) - OK so, on a total whim, I started this fic a little bit before midnight and read all 46k and change in one sitting til way too late into the early morning.

It's an AU in which BTS never happens. However, the rapline (plus who I think are two members of the K-rock band Day6?) are in a band. Taegi are in lurve, BUT said relationship is tested to its breaking point when Yoongi's rock band is invited to perform at the 2009 Warped Tour.

The fic jumps between the events of the tour AND the present time (set 10 yrs later.) It's a v. tough read cuz Yoongi (and, well, everyone really) is so young and have different issues. Also, Yoongi's alcohol abuse (there are brief mentions of him getting into pills later on) IS front and center. So, if that's something that anyone finds triggering, I'd say avoid this fic?

Everything's told from Yoongi's POV--which is important to keep in mind cuz he can be an unreliable narrator. I really liked how this fic worked the rest of the Tannies into the plot (both in the past and the present), other friends and colleagues popping up here and there (the friendship between Yoongi and Halsey was sweet AF), and a mostly realistic look at queerness when someone's a native Korean.

Good stuff all in all but, again, thread carefully if you're not sure abt the angst and triggery subjects. Feel free to ask me if you want to know anything specific. I'm not someone who gravitates toward stories abt addiction and the struggles to maintain sobriety. However, I trusted this author to do it right and they did.
