[personal profile] glitteryv posting in [community profile] recthething
Every Thursday, we have a community post, just like this one, where you can drop a rec or five in the comments.

This works great if you only have one rec and don't want to make a whole post for it, or if you don't have a DW account, or if you're shy. ;)

(But don't forget: you can deffo make posts of your own seven days a week. ;D!)

So what cool fanvids/fics/fanart/other kinds of fanworks/fancrafts/podfics have we discovered this week? Drop it in the comments below. Anon comment is enabled.

BTW, AI fanworks are not eligible for reccing at recthething. If you aware that a fanwork is AI-generated, please do not rec it here.

Stopping by to rec the gift I received for Five Figure Fanwork Exchange, genuinely one of the best things I've read all year. There's all the longing and angst from the original novel, but given such a fresh and interesting spin in the modern setting. I know the original story so well and have read it so many times, but this fic is crafted so well that you get completely caught up in it. And this take on Anne Elliot is perhaps my favourite of all time. Just saying. Long but worth it!

Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Persuasion - Jane Austen
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Anne Elliot/Frederick Wentworth
Characters: Anne Elliot, Frederick Wentworth, Mary Musgrove (Persuasion), Sophia Croft, Background and Supporting Canon Characters
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Modern Setting, Alternate Universe - Theatre, Pining, Oblivious, Anne Elliot-Centric, Canon-Typical Injuries
Summary:

The Kellynch Community Playhouse is Anne's life. If stepping away, giving it over to an outside production team for the summer, is what it takes to save it, then that's what she'll do.

Only, did it have to go to her ex's sister?

Also, seconding the rec above for the Mansfield Park fic by ChronicBookworm, which was also a gift for me from Fic in a Box. I've been super lucky with my Austen gifts lately :D If you're looking for a fic that has Fanny Price's happiness at its centre, then look no further! Highly recommend them both.
