This works great if you only have one rec and don't want to make a whole post for it, or if you don't have a DW account, or if you're shy. ;)

(But don't forget: you can deffo make posts of your own seven days a week. ;D!)

ALSO, since this is the last post for 2021, I'd like to thank everyone who participates in these posts whether making recs or commenting. We're all in different fandoms and have all kinds of individual likes. So it's tremendously heart-warming to see y'all interact here.

(And, hey, if you--yes, you--happen to be someone who quietly enjoys the recs, the ONLY thing I'd ask is for you to leave some comments or kudos to the fic authors, podficers, vidders, etc of the fanworks you've enjoyed.)

FANARTS



* The Fantastic Beasts series by Gehenna1986B based on Korean folklore is AMAZING FANART. Behold RM, Seokjin,
Jimin, Yoongi, Taehyung, Hobi, and Jungkook.



* He was ready to risk it all by cerajun - A cute Seokjin/Hobi fanart inspired by the Butter promo and mv in which each of the guys hold a number for the crime they've been arrested for. In Hobi's case, his placard had a Korean beeping code that meant "kisses"



One day I'll stop with the long-haired!Jimin and Yoongi-wearing-a-skirt-for-a-magazine-photoshoot. Not today, but (maybe) one day I won't link to more fanart abt both of those things, hahaha.

* Untitled Yoongi fanart by ashanpan - One of the reasons why I like this reimagining is the idea of Yoongi wearing high-heeled boots (instead of the sneakers he wore in the actual!photoshoot.) Also, the B&W is used v. effectively too.

* Untitled Vmin by K1SHU_ - Super cute mini-comic inspired by Taehyung's recent Insta stories featuring him bare-chested and scruffy… >:)


* vante in his art studio by AlkaArt_ - I love this interpretation of Taehyung's post abt the painting he did during a private painting class. Vante is his painter's signature/name. ;)


* My love by btbtbbt_67 - Lulzy and sweet, here's a possible explanation of how Jimin was able to take the pic he took and later uploaded to wish Taehyung a happy birthday.

NGL, I love the cheekiness of titling it "My Love" since those are the words that Jimin, RM, and Hobi used when they tweeted Happy Birthday to Taehyung, awwwww.



FICS

* come back tomorrow (and the day after too) by Trotter (General rating, Seokjin/Yoongi, 7k) - Canon-divergent AU in which Seokjin doesn't end up joining BTS and yet all seven are destined to meet.

I really liked the Seokjin in this story: he's still adorably dorky and a much-loved celebrity. His interactions with idol groups are super sweet and, obvs, the eventual connection with Yoongi is pretty cute too. Finally, I really liked the behind-the-scenes aspect of the story.


* with you, anywhere will be by silklace (Explicit, OT7, 6.7k) - A v. fun PWP set in a A/B/O AU.

A cool fic that's nothing but porny goodness.

I've been trying to make my way though the various exchanges that recently revealed.

(no Welsh knowledge needed, just a hilarious story with a bit from wtfduolingo thrown in)
花的游吟 | Le Vrai Où (Short Film) - A Different Version of an Old Song (2k) Summary: “What about you?” the bartender asks. “Have you decided?” (while the fandom is only a 10 min short film this can be read fandom blind, as it's a fascinating AU take of an immortal singer meeting a bartender over and over)
Cyberpunk adaptation of Laughing in the Wind (Cfensi April Fool Post) - what you've taken (5k) Summary: When Zhongze Ning's wife goes too far in a bid for power, Ning makes a dangerous gamble in an attempt to protect what remains of her family. (Based off a post this cyberpunk wuxia f/f fic is a fascinating read)

镇魂 | Guardian - priest - water, sparks in the eyes and gone (4.7k) Summary: [Shen Wei requests approval for activation of unit: king_6h05t] I need you to approve this so I can help you. [Zhao Yunlan has approved Shen Wei’s request.] Thank you. Hold on, I’ll be there soon. (Amazing scifi AU with several clever nods to canon but still enjoyable without having read the book)
Knitting (Anthropomorphic) - Curses, foiled again (3k) Summary: The residents of Yarn Stash Cabinet are concerned about their crafter’s holiday knitting plans. (utterly adorable)
crossover: 17776: What Football Will Look Like in the Future - Jon Bois and Expert and Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion... - Sandia Labs - Long-Term Projects (2k) Summary: Even after radiation stops being able to kill, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant doesn't offer a lot of entertainment. What keeps drawing people back? A sense of duty to a lost future? Reenacting old mistakes? Boredom? It's probably mostly boredom. (only a vague amount canon knowledge needed for this one, but it's a fascinating look at humanity and how things just don't change, until they do)

Inktober 2018 by reapersun. My friend sent me this the other day bc she knew it was v much in my interests, and it's fantastic! It's a 33 page comic of Cole from The Sixth Sense and Kevin from Home Alone meeting when they're all grown up amd Kevin's mom hires Cole to help with the ghosts haunting their house. A little gruesome with a bit of a sweet, shippy ending :)

I'll probably do a proper Yuletide reccs post, but I adored the gift I got! It's rated Mature, fandom is The English Game (a historical sports mini series featuring two soccer rivals). It's got such vivid historical details, plus it sets up the canon first meeting so well.

I don't normally click on fics with the OT3 tag, but this one was *also* tagged shippy gen, which basically turns out to mean it can be read as good friends or with an underlying romantic bond, as the reader prefers. This one's a cute little fic and nicely lighthearted.
