Summary: 2095. Britain is a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by droughts, the collapse of civilisation, and hordes of the undead. Despite that, Aziraphale’s life is actually pretty good. He has his caravan, his books, and his work, offering his services to the men who stop by Tadfield on their arduous journey north.
One day, a mysterious stranger knocks on his door. Crowley is charming and handsome and he appears to know his way around a vegetable garden. He comes with the tempting offer of a mutually beneficial arrangement. But it’s in Aziraphale’s best interest not to get too attached.
A dystopian cottagecore sex worker AU.
Reccer's Note: This is probably the most wholesome zombie apocalypse story I have ever read! The author does such a great job with the atmosphere, you can feel the hot summer sun, and the insects buzzing in the garden. Even though Aziraphale and Crowley have sex in the beginning, the story does a really great job of building up their friendship and then romantic relationship. Crowley is pretty much a goner for Aziraphale from the get go, but Aziraphale has some issues around relationships and intimacy, but given his background it makes sense.
A couple of notes, aside from one pivotal scene the zombies are not a core element to the story, they only come out at night, and people have learned to avoid them. Also, Aziraphale is a sex worker in this story so there are sexual situations with men other than Crowley, they are lightly skimmed over and not given a huge amount of detail, but they are there. Overall, I think the author handled Aziraphale's sex work respectfully.
