A theme in three parts using Merlin fanworks: I really like gifsets that present an argument or use the photos in a new way.

As an example, although this one's argument comes in a reblog comment by comin-up-for-air, it brings context that a viewer less familiar with the canon wouldn't know.

Although this is less analytical, I have always found myself wondering in this scene presented by iknownowmerlin, if Arthur was meant to be amused by Merlin's statement, or if the editor just chose a scene where Bradley James barely kept himself from laughing at Colin Morgan's outrage.

Lastly, I quite enjoy gifsets that recontextualize scenes to create new stories, such as the Bring Your Own Fanfic Plot series by mayalunas.

The best (and longest) single Eliot/Parker fic I've ever read, slow burn friends to lovers and very in-character!

silver and gold (33167 words) by themonkeytwin
Amazing Maggie/Sterling series, canon compliant and actually making me like Sterling.

A (Slightly) Dysfunctional Family (117505 words) by smthwallflower
An AU series where Nate finds kid!Parker and takes her home to the team. I'm not usually one for kid!char fics but this was fantastic.

To Have What It Takes (1419 words) by Zilentdreamer
An interesting exploration of Nate's words to Hardison at the end of The Scheherazade Job. I can't get some of the lines out of my mind, they nail Nate's and Parker's characters so perfectly.

Like Knows Like (no wordcount available, but it's short) by Maggie
A dark but all-too-plausible fic set in S1, with Eliot and Parker looking at a piece of Parker's past. Note the warnings next to the rating on the fic's page.
