California [Fanvid] by Tafadhali. "Don's going to California with an aching in his heart." This Mad Men vid was just excellent -- I've rarely seen a vid that hit a mood this hard.

Royals by garrideb. A Beatles vid that captures the fandom and its subjects so well -- sweet nostalgia.

“i want you to always be you.”“i wouldn’t change a thing.” by arthurpendragonns. It's impressive what can be done with manipped video to create gifsets these days. This look at Merlin and Arthur employs various techniques to explore them in 9 panels.

Reccing a lovely Cecil/Carlos WTNV fic from the recently-revealed round of Kink Lucky Dip:

Windows to the Soul (Further Testing Required) by fayharley. 3k, rated E.

Author's summary: Carlos thought it was a trick of the light the first time he met Cecil. The second through fourth time he desperately hoped it was a trick of the light. It wasn't until their fifth meeting, as they sat across from each other at Big Rico's Pizza with Cecil talking and gesturing about how just awful Desert Bluffs was, that Carlos could no longer subdue the horrible fact that Cecil had no eyes.

My thoughts: The summary makes it sound pretty creepy, but I will say, this fic is really lovely and hot! It has juuuust the right combination of weird, sexiness, and body horror.

I had a great time reading some shorter (under <2k) fic from the Kink Lucky Dip collection, which opened over the weekend, and I come bearing recs!

Summary: Without any kind of explanation, Jane had led him down the garden path with such ease. All it had taken was that first long glance, a warm smile and a few touches and Cho had melted like a candle in the noon sun.

This is an AU set not long after the American Depression where Cho is searching for his missing sister, Lucy. The search leads him to Lisbon, the 'secretary' for a Private Investigator, who convinces Cho to let her take on the case when her boss turns it down. The case leads them to Jane, one of the last people to see Lucy, and eventually to Red John. The story cleverly brings in aspects of the TV series and has a film noir feel about it, leading to a wonderful and satisfying conclusion.

This fic is one of my favorites, it is an amazing response to the mess that is Marvel canon. It's a very different take than other Endgame AUs, but it is masterfully well done and if you like any of the characters who got snapped, you'll probably love this fic.
