Rephrase? is a response to the source story delivered in the form of a text game, and it makes brilliant use of the interactive format in a way that perfectly answers the source's own niche format of editorial comments. Here's the author's summary:

Your company's automated vehicle system has killed someone, your team has been working all week to figure out why, and now you're working late writing the summary for your boss. It's a tough job, the kind that might even lead someone to violate the rules of business etiquette. Luckily, corporate has installed a new style checker to make sure you keep things professional.

It's heavy going in many ways - do heed the content tags - but handled incredibly deftly and with great nuance, and all too chillingly plausible. Well worth exploring how each choice gets translated in the outcome.

I have to admit, when I first saw this fic I was perturbed -- 1500 words isn't a drabble! But it's actually a "5 times" fic made up of triple drabbles, and it works beautifully.

Merlin/Holy Grail Maship Fanart by gyrhs. Such a great idea, why haven't I seen anyone do this before? This second panel is particularly perfect with the appearance of Will.

Community Comment Fic by dariaw about remote learning (this would have been a wonderful episode plot!)

A Shot in the Dark by Krim.This just had a great tone from start to finish. There's something so perfectly classic Hollywood about the sound and clip choices that make one think about how Only Murders in the Building is both modern and a throwback given its casting.

the country's new behaviour [vid] by stardust_rain. There can never be too many tributes to the wonderful storytelling in Chernobyl and this vid does a great job with it.

There is some nuance to it, of course, but what is nuance when your friend’s dead body has been found in a stasis container in Cargo Bay Four?

Or, Julian dies in the name of service to the Alpha Quadrant, but does a poor job staying dead. It does get his friends back together in one place, though.

Open-Mouthed into the Ocean
by stymphalides. "Years after Merlin and Morgana fled Camelot together, they receive a surprise visitor who promises change." A play in one act in a single room, wonderfully paced and which earns its slow and not entirely certain resolution.

I Feel the Earth Move [Fanvid] by periru3, Tafadhali. Enormously fun disaster movie tribute (with a very apropos title sequence!)

Vid: Stand By You by thingswithwings. "Male privilege is a shield; you can choose what you use the shield for." Sometimes you have to see the future to get there.

Should Have Known Better by wrensandroses. I haven't seen a Queer as Folk vid for a long time, but I quite liked this one. For one thing it focuses on Brian's arc rather than his relationship with Justin, which I appreciated because I've seen such a bunch of ship vids for them in the past. And secondly, I think it does a good job of mining critical issues he confronts during the series.

He's Safe Here by mayalunas. I really like BYOFP gifsets, which are (sometimes animated) fanfumetti. I thought this Merlin one worked really well as a slice of a larger story.

This fic is a result of my bid at Fandom Trumps Hate 2021, and it's such an intriguing and creative read! The author explored what would have happened if Thomas and Minho were in each other's shoes before the events of The Maze Runner. I liked the dialogue, and the way Minho's callous exterior doesn't really hide how much he cares about Thomas.
