i've gotten a completely delightful gift for the sleuth of ming dynasty, a beautifully tender and intimate moment between sui zhou and tang fan that explores everything that's delightful about their relationship:

It's been a long night, and all Sui Zhou wants is a bath and Tang Fan.

closer [vid] by Anonymous. Wonderful recap video of Ghostbusters with an emphasis on the friendships.
Afterlife by Anonymous. Makes you want to take this journey with The Good Place characters...or at least rewatch the whole series.
[VID] I Want You to Want Me by Anonymous. Lively and uplifting vid of Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing.
Still Life With Flerken by copperbadge. Wonderful speculation on the relevance of Goose to Nick Fury post-Captain Marvel.
Weighty and Troublesome Things by Skitz_phenom. "Post-canon AU / Canon AU from S2. It's been ten years since Arthur drifted away from him on the Lake of Avalon, but even inside Camelot's walls, Merlin is still lost. Hiding from those who know him and cut off from his former life in self-imposed exile, he can't resist the temptation when a mysterious stranger offers him the chance to set things right. Merlin returns to the past, to an innocent, simpler time, armed with the knowledge of Arthur's fate."

Time-travel is the ultimate fix-it format, but what is striking about this story is less what Merlin does as opposed to the cost he bears of doing so. The ending makes it clear that this is the focus of the story, and I love that it does not tie things up neatly.

Love Letter To Fandom by marlinspirkhall. Star Trek TOS centered, but really about the fandom experience.
Spike and 19 more of my Buffyverse faves: a Venn diagram by thenewbuzwuzz. I particularly like the elaboration of how there are many ways or reasons of enjoying a character, though I suspect the Buffyverse has a particularly large group of people with their own arcs, as well as the single standalone characters who are fun.

What We Live For by kuwdora. Excellent video of Rey/Poe/Finn -- humorous, light and sweet, and superbly edited.
happy new year! and happy 8th anniversary to merlin! by gedref. Animated drawing of Arthur and Merlin celebrating.
1000 Watsons walk into a bar... by destinationtoast. Loved this meta-ish mashup of all the tropes and AU styles that fans spin characters through. Very fitting that it's for the earliest contemporary fandom. Also notable simply for the collective name "an embarrassment of Sherlocks."
The Bullpen by elipie. "Elizabeth Swann: Pirate King." Such a fitting song for her, wonderful pacing, and a celebration of a remarkable character.

Born Under A Bad Sign by AurumCalendula.'been having bad luck all of my days' It's great that there are so many women who are traditional heroes or antiheroes in pop culture now, and Dex Parios is another good example. A good look at her in S1 of Stumptown.
Modern Merlin AU by screenwritr. Although I've seen many AU ideas expressed in gifsets, I've yet to see someone attempt to tell an ongoing story with them. Best of all, this one, which starts with caps from The Fall, make the usual story concept of Arthur's return particularly striking.
[Vid] Unlimited Dark Paths by runawaynun. "Bobbie Draper, Mars, and the era she imagined." I'm rather partial to a vid on my favorite Expanse character, but this has some great editing.
I'm Not Done by AurumCalendula is another good example. In my opinion there was not enough love out there for Terminator: Dark Fate. I love how this stitches together Sarah's longer story into Dani and Grace's. Not done indeed.
VID: Seven Nation Army by mithborien. ""I know my value." A Peggy Carter focused fanvid." Some us really miss Agent Carter and this vid gives us so many reasons why.
